Poster analysis 'The family'

I have chosen to look at a number of different posters from different genres to see whether they contain similar conventions. Here, I am looking for conventions that all posters share, regardless of genre. Once I have decided on the conventions that reappear time and time again I will make sure that I incorporate them into my sketches and designs, and my final poster that I produce.

The first film I am analysing is for a film ' The family' of the gangster genre.

I think conventions will be consistent across most of the posters I will look at and include : a large image of the central character in the film/usually the main star, the name of the in a prominent position, the credits (usually at the bottom of the poster), logos for the studios producing and distributing the film (often small and found at the bottom of the page) and a website for the film.

Other conventions that do not always appear on every poster (depending on the type of film and when the poster appeared in the films marketing campaign) include release date, the name of the director and sound logos.
